General Classroom Rules
As in life, rules and procedures in the art cave ensure a positive and safe learning environment, minimize confusion and help everyone succeed.
Students will learn a lot in this class, some of their work may not be as successful as others, but they will gain valuable experience, personal growth and learn through their mistakes.
….often the hardest part is ……..getting started.
Leave backpacks in Dome
· Space is limited in the Art Room, book bags, binders, and other items should not be brought to class unless they are directly related to the project the students are working on. Students should leave these items in the Dome if possible.
Students are expected to TRY
· Music in the art room is meant to create an atmosphere conducive to creativity, not distract or entertain. Students may make playlists of appropriate music that can be played for the entire class. Students should ask permission before adjusting the volume or changing the music.
· Computers are provided for art research and printing purposes only, they are not to be used for gaming, emailing, Face booking etc…

Follow instructions for warm-up on TV
WHEN STUDENTS ARE TARDY
· Students who think they will be late, should get a note from their previous teacher excusing them.
· Students are considered tardy if they arrive more than 3 minutes after the scheduled class start time.
· Enter quietly
· Sign the tardy sheet
· Provide Mrs. Wood with note
· Begin working
WHEN A STUDENT IS ABSENT
· It is the student’s responsibility to find out what work was missed and make up outside of class.
-Students should find out what they will be missing if they know they are going to be absent.
WHEN THERE IS A SUBSTITUTE
Substitutes are a guest at The Salisbury School, and deserve the same respect given to the regular instructor. Students should remain focused, use their time wisely and follow all rules/procedures.
TALKING
· Loud and excessive talking is distracting and inconsiderate to those who are trying to work.
· Students may talk while working-at an acceptable noise
level, but should avoid yelling across the room.
