SAFETY
We are very fortunate to have a vast supply of tools and equipment in the Art Room. To avoid students getting hurt, the tools and equipment need to be used in a responsible manner.
The following safety guidelines should always be followed.
· Absolutely no horseplay, practical jokes, etc...
· Use tools properly & wear appropriate safety gear
· Follow directions as given
· If painting on skin, use only approved products.
· Follow proper disposal methods for products. Clay, plaster and turpentine should not be put down the drain.
· Consuming food or beverages in an art room can be unsafe or damage artwork/equipment.
· Students should always ask if they are unsure how to use equipment or unfamiliar with safety precautions.

CONSEQUENCES FOR BREAKING RULES OR
PROCEDURES
1st offense: Verbal Warning*
2nd offense: Call/Note home and to Dean of Students
3rd offense: Conference with Dean of Students and Upper
School Head and parent
4th offense: Student may be asked to drop the class.
*Students may require a conference on 1st offense if severity necessitates.
